30 min b&w warm-up from this morning
for someone who asked, this was painted with Painter’s soft pastel brushes.
brushwork practice from this morning, painted on one layer with corel’s soft pastel tools… when in doubt, paint faces.
here’s a Painter speed sketch from the other day, featuring Adelle (character from the last post). might clean this one up later. on a side note, i will never cease to LOVE backlighting… it always makes everything look so romantic and pretty! :>
more sketches with corel’s hard charcoal pencil, from this morning. i wanted to draw a little girl lookin’ all tough and bandaged up!
browsing my warm-up folder for sketches to post here… here are some older studies drawn with corel painter’s “hard charcoal pencil” tool. definitely one of the most organic digital sketching tools i’ve used!

here’s a close-up from the WIP below!
… oh snap, is the year almost over? still not allowed to post most of the stuff i’m drawing, so i haven’t updated much… but i’m very grateful for the work, so i won’t complain. may your new year be full of opportunities and learning experiences! and thanks so much for following my blog, it means a lot! :)
Royal Guardians, story illustration WIP. still playing around with brushwork and colors, i feel like i’ve been practicing it forever~
i was invited to this project by the very talented Jerrod Maruyama, you should definitely check out his work!
